A Kalamazoo, Michigan, family is now looking for a stranger who gave a tribute to a passing funeral procession.Phillip “Paw Paw” Dooley Sr. died from cancer several days after Thanksgiving, and he was laid to rest Thursday at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Michigan, WWMT reported.“It’s always tough saying goodbye but to the man who was the rock in our family, it was something that I didn’t expect to do when he was 65,” Shelby Sams, Dooley’s granddaughter, told the station.“There was a man who actually got out of his car, stood by his driver side door with his head bowed and his hands clasped in front of him for the entire procession,” said Sams.Their 30-car procession traveled 15 miles. One driver—the man referenced by Sams—got out of his vehicle and bowed his head. “It was the greatest gesture of respect that I’ve ever seen,” Sams’ sister, Courtney Steffler, said.Dooley’s grandson, Garrick Dooley, said that he wants to find the man.“To the man that gave respect to my PawPaw as we passed by on the way to Ft. Custer I want to say thank you. This lifted up many lowered heads today. If my Facebook friends and family could share this post to find this man I would love to shake his hand,” he wrote on Facebook, adding an image of the unnamed man with his head bowed.Garrick added to Fox Detroit: “If the guy isn’t found I still love seeing the positivity out of it. My Paw Paw deserves it and he never gave himself enough credit.”Dooley’s grandkids said that the man’s gesture is a sign from their grandfather.Sams told WWMT: “Looking down on us saying we know you’re in pain but everything is going to be okay.” Show Discussion US News (Screenshot / Google Maps) Michigan Family Wants to Find Man Who Bowed Head at Funeral Procession By Epoch Newsroom December 6, 2017 Updated: December 6, 2017 Share this article LINKEDINPINTERESTREDDITTUMBLRSTUMBLEUPON Share And while you’re here … We have a small favor to ask of you.
