There is a clear plan for the future of AirMalta – Muscat

first_imgWhatsApp Prime Minister and Partit Laburista leader Joseph Muscat discussed the national airline, AirMalta during his intervention on the party’s radio station on Sunday. He said that there are clear plans on how the company will expand thanks to a new and more economical fleet. Muscat added that there are also plans to add to the current routes which the national airline operates on such as India and the United States. He continued that thanks to this addition job opportunities will also increase within the company. He stressed that the government needs to be responsible and realistic. Joseph Muscat said that AirMalta will focus more on the business traveller and will offer a more extensive array of deals and improved products. When asked on the United Nations report which puts Malta as one of the best countries that deals with poverty within its territory, Muscat said there is still poverty in Malta and it is a big challenge. He added that his government had inherited a situation where poverty was on the increase. He stated that policies have to focus on education and employment. The Prime Minister also elaborated that issue is being tackled with an increase in pensions every fiscal year. Touching on the health sector, Muscat said this sector is doing well and the projects in the pipeline will continue to improve the situation. He explained that priority is being given to mental health and cancer issues.
