The quarterback responsible for all six 300-yard passing performances in school history, Zappe threw touchdowns to four different receivers against the Tigers as the Huskies compiled a school-record 749 yards of total offense. This is his second Offensive Player of the Week award of the fall. Murray, a redshirt freshman defensive end, is the Defensive Player of the Week. The ‘Jacks (1-4, 1-1 SLC) spoiled Lamar’s homecoming festivities and picked up the first win of the Colby Carthel era with a 24-17 decision. The freshman nailed a career-long 54-yarder for HBU’s final points in its 68-31 win over Texas Southern. Garcia was 8-for-9 on extra points, setting a program record for most PATs made. He is 29-for-32 on the year on extra points. Defensive Player of the Week: Amad Murray – R-Fr. – Defensive End – Huntsville, TexasMurray played a vital role in a Stephen F. Austin defense that held Lamar to just three points through the first three quarters of Saturday’s 24-17 win over the Cardinals. The redshirt freshman defensive end tallied two of the ‘Jacks’ four sacks, both of which came on third-downs tops. Murray is the first SFA player this season to record multiple sacks in a game. Zappe is the offensive Player of the Week after tossing a school-record seven touchdown passes, and teammate Garcia, a freshman kicker, is the Special Teams Player of the Week for the second-straight week.
