GARDAI QUIZ SUSPECT AFTER THREATS TO DONEGAL COUNCILLOR

first_imgExclusive: Donegal Gardai investigating death threats against a councillor have interviewed a suspect, Donegal Daily can reveal.It comes after a fire which destroyed a house at Parkhill outside Ballyshannon earlier this week.A Garda spokesman would only say that officers are investigating what they called a ‘threatening mail’ received by a local representative. It’s understood the councillor received a package to his home which he found ‘extremely upsetting.’Donegal Daily can reveal a man has been interviewed in relation to the incident and a file is being prepared for the DPP.Cllr Sean McEniff has been under huge pressure since objecting to the €230,000 house being bought by the council to house a Traveller family of 12.He had condemned those behind the arson attack; but he has refused to withdraw comments in which he said Travellers should be housed together.
