first_img (Photo supplied/The Elkhart Truth) Senator Todd Young has signed on to a bipartisan group of U.S. Senators who are introducing legislation to lend a hand to small broadband companies providing internet for students learning at home.Young is part of the Keeping Critical Connections Act, which seeks to protect vital internet connections for students and their families during the coronavirus pandemic.The Indiana Republican said students and teachers across the state are struggling to complete their e-learning days with broadband connections that are unreliable at best. He said the bipartisan bill is aimed at improving remote learning for Hoosier students, and online health services for seniors who are most at risk during the outbreak.The bill would appropriate 2 billion dollars for a fund at the FCC to compensate small providers.
